Happy independence day..

"The safety, honour and welfare of your country come first, always and every time.
The honour, welfare and comfort of the men you command come next.
Your own ease, comfort and safety come last always and every time."

..Reads the credo of IMA.

I sometimes feel the helplessness of a soldier, without any arms being the the battle field of life. I was taught the principles of being a good soldier and a commander at one of the world's prestigeous defence establishments.

When out of the Olive green drapes, off the camoflauges, as men in plain clothes and a soft heart, we feel the same way should our country be as good and disciplined as we are. We listen to slogans.. "Mera bharath Mahan", which was propagated when there were TV sets in only 25% of households.

We had been tiring out all these years to make up a new India crying the Slogan mera bharath mahan, which was quoted from one of the speeches that Rajiv Gandhi delivered. There are still faces of poverty, corruption, discrimination, religious violence, child labor, bad schools and pollution.

But none of this means that the country's massive shift is an illusion. Twenty years ago the rest of the world saw India as a pauper. Now it is just as famous for its software engineers, Bollywood movie stars, literary giants and steel magnates.

Indeed, these days a new slogan has appeared on the back of the auto-rickshaws, a simple statement that captures the excitement and promise palpable in many parts of the country. "Mera Bharat Jawan," it reads: "My India is Young."

Good job India.. buit we should never forget we are still not there were a developed nation is.. we have more homeless.. than US .. you could say even foodless and cloth less.
